Keira Torkko, Treasurer

Keira Torkko is currently Director, Business Services at the National Research Council of Canada. She is responsible for leading the group that provides coordinated business support and guidance to NRC programs and executives. Prior to this position within NRC, Keira worked as the Business Advisor to the VP (Technology and Industry Support) and as a Senior Business Officer managing NRC's equity portfolio and complex case files.

| Before joining NRC, Keira worked in varying financial and business development roles within the private and not for profit sector. This included managing the Ottawa Capital Network program for OCRI (Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation), commercial lending with a financial institution and co-founding a niche marketing firm.

| In a volunteer capacity, Keira has supported the Ottawa Community Loan Fund, Old Ottawa South Community Association, Canadian Cancer Society and other community development programs.
|

|
| Keira has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria (Finance and Entrepreneurship) and is a Certified General Accountant.
