To make sure you find the best opportunity consider these things:
Keep track of each volunteer opportunity that you are applying for (including volunteer opportunity title, organization and contact name and phone number).
Wait one to two weeks and if you have not yet heard from this organization, follow up with them.
Join the volunteer pool. Many organizations prefer to search our pool of volunteers on their own.
