Spiritual Leader / Clergy for Interdenominational Worship Service @ The Good Companions

The Good Companions are looking for Clergy Volunteers to officiate at the Monday, Wednesday and/or Thursday Chapel Service for the Adult Day Program. The chapel services are from 10:30am to 12:30 pm and lunch provided. Overview The Day Centre provides a choice of programs and activities to enhance well- being by providing social, physical and mental stimulation. Day Program clients may have difficulty getting about in the community. The Chapel Volunteer would officiate at the Monday, Wednesday and/or Thursday Chapel Service for the Adult Day Program. Duties / Procedures %u2022 Establish dates and times of service which you will lead with the Day Centre Coordinator or Chapel Recruitment Volunteer; %u2022 Plan and interdenominational 30 minute service. Clergy are encouraged to conduct a service that would be comfortable and familiar for members of their own denomination, but which can be enjoyed by all; %u2022 A short sermon/address and appropriate readings are a part of the service; %u2022 On arrival at centre, inform the Day program Coordinator that you are there; %u2022 The hymns are selected, in conjunction with the pianist, from the Songs of the Faith Anthology which is available at the Centre. Dependant on time, the service usually has 3-4 hymns interspersed. %u2022 The service ends with a Grace, which is located at the front of the hymnal. Requirements %u2022 Warm, friendly, courteous manner; %u2022 Positive people oriented personality; %u2022 Punctual and reliable; %u2022 Maintains confidentiality; %u2022 Understands the needs, interests and concerns of older adults and adults with physical disabilities; %u2022 Great organizational skills; and %u2022 Knowledge of and interest in Chapel Services. Time Commitment %u2022 ½ hour per service, plus planning time; %u2022 Monday and/or Wednesday and/or Thursday, 11:00- 11:30a.m. as scheduled. Location / Working Environment %u2022 The volunteer may plan the Chapel Services from home; %u2022 Volunteer will lead Chapel Services at the Centre; %u2022 Can stand or sit using a microphone.
