Emergency Runner @ CHEO

The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) is currently seeking adult volunteers with daytime availability, in order to balance the hospital's current team of student and adult volunteers. Adult candidates can be retired, semi-retired, consultants, Domestic Engineers/home workers. All volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment to the hospital of one year, working a set shift, once-a-week. The majority of placements are scheduled weekdays during daytime hours, and most shifts are two to four hours long. Providing assurance, comfort measures and guidance to patients/families upon entering the hospital in times of crisis.

Patients and families experience a positive visit to the ED and receive the support needed. Rewarding: Positive feedback from families and healthcare providers. Highlight interpersonal and communication skills. Interact as a team member Satisfaction: providing comfort to anxious/stressed patients and families in times of crisis.
