Our Friday afternoon baking/social group requires a volunteer to support this very worthwhile activity. Residents come together to participate in an interactive group which can include discussion, simple baking (cookies, muffins etc.) and use of motor skills. This is a dementia unit and it is a very rewarding experience to become familiar with the history of these individuals prior to their dementia. One of our residents even wrote a best selling cookbook and it is a joy to watch and encourage her to participate in this activity. Friday afternoons 1 - 3:30 which includes set up, activity and clean up. Very interesting conversations!!
