We are currently seeking Friendly Visitors.
This opportunity involves an in-person meeting once every two weeks and a call on the week in between. We try to match you with a senior or adult with a physical disability who has the same interests and hobbies/
This opportunity is best suited for a positive, calm, compassionate, open-minded, independent, reliable person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English).
This would be great for post-secondary students looking to gain practical experience(e.g. gerontology and social work programs), those retired from fields that involved working with seniors or those with experience and interest in connecting with seniors.
Daytime matches are highly sought after. Depending on availability, evening and weekend opportunities may also be available.
This opportunity operates on a schedule decided upon by successful candidates and the client they are paired with in the community.
The friendly visiting program is a wonderful way to give back to the community.
