Ruth has a passion for volunteering and always advocating for volunteering. Ruth was the Volunteer Coordinator and Program Lead for CNIB for 10 years. Currently, Ruth is the Executive Lead for Governance & Board Relations at Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada.

Her background in national and regional program and event management, training development, and volunteer engagement for Scouts Canada and CNIB provides a solid understanding of non-profit leadership, volunteer engagement, and board governance. Ruth contributed to the creation of Volunteer Ottawa’s online Board Leadership Fundamentals and the Board Leadership Insights programs.

Ruth holds Certificates in program evaluation, volunteer management, and senior leadership in non-profits.  She is an active member of the Governance Professionals of Canada and Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada.
