Ottawa Therapy Dogs (OTD)
About Organization
Ottawa Therapy Dogs is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization that provides animal-assisted interventions throughout the National Capital Region.
Our volunteer handlers and their therapy dogs pass extensive evaluations by trained evaluators to ensure clients receive safe and effective services.
Each year, our therapy dog teams serve people in more than 60 facilities, including:
Hospitals
Treatment programs
Schools and libraries
Palliative care facilities
Long-term care facilities
Rehabilitation centres
Universities
We are also a certified administrator of the Reading Education Assistance Dogs® (R.E.A.D.®) program.
