Who is Start2Finish? Start2Finish’s mission is to break the cycle of child poverty by providing ongoing educational support to Canada’s at risk children throughout their school years, nurturing mind, body and social health so they are empowered to succeed and become role models for change. How can I volunteer? The Start2Finish Running & Reading Club is an innovative after-school program that effectively addresses the need for enhanced physical activity, literacy, and mentorship among children experiencing poverty/deprivation. The program targets elementary school aged children, operating directly within city schools once per week for 2 hours, over a 32-week period. The dates in May that are open for volunteering are the first, second and third weeks of May. Our programs run from Tuesday to Thursday; the day of the week depends on the Club location that volunteers are interested in participating in.
