Connect In-person with Potential Volunteers

VO’s Volunteer Expo is a beloved local event for many members of the community, and each event sees hundreds of attendees who are looking to volunteer. This twice-yearly in-person event is organized by Volunteer Ottawa as part of our mandate to help connect volunteers and the organizations who need their help. Volunteer Ottawa’s active member organizations can sign up to exhibit at these events and recruit volunteers.

The Fall 2024 Volunteer Expo was on September 20, 2024 at the Nepean Sportsplex. Over 40 organizations were represented and we welcomed over 600 guests.

Right now, exhibit space at Volunteer Expo is only available to VO member organizations with an active 2024/25 membership. Click here to learn more about membership and sign up online.

Since space at Volunteer Expo is limited, we will start by reserving half tables for everyone. Once registration closes, full tables will be allocated to organizations on the waiting list. If you would like to be put on the waiting list for a full table, please mention it in the sign-up form. 

Volunteer Ottawa regularly holds one of our annual Expos in a central location and one in another location around the city. By changing locations, we aim to serve as much of the city as possible. We choose venues based on location, availability, and access.

Volunteer Ottawa provides the space, event management, and promotion. On the day of the event you simply need to show up with your materials ready to talk to people! Here are some items our members commonly bring to the Expo: 

  • Stand-up banner 
  • Tablecloth 
  • Hand-out materials 
  • Business cards 
  • Reusable water bottles for the table team 

Members also sometimes bring items like laptops to run videos, small individually wrapped treats to hand out, or fans for the comfort of the table team.
