Stakeholder engagement can be a powerful tool for NFP organizations. More than just a way of obtaining valuable input for decision-making, stakeholder engagement can also be a strategy for developing and strengthening relationships with key partners. This workshop will identify the elements of effective stakeholder engagement, and how to plan a stakeholder engagement strategy. It will also be an opportunity for you to bring your questions and challenges about stakeholder engagement.

 

This workshop is part of our Learning Path for Non-Profit Staff, a series of 6 workshops designed for anyone working in the non-profit sector looking to develop and enhance their skills.

  • Participants will have the opportunity to discuss and find solutions to common challenges in stakeholder engagement.

Instructor

Ken Hoffman has a particular interest in helping organizations, coalitions and networks to increase their effectiveness and impact through developing common visions and strategies for working effectively together, and developing cultures that support learning and innovation. Stakeholder engagement is often an important part of this work; stakeholders can have important perspectives and insights that can inform policy and practice. Ken has extensive experience in developing effective stakeholder engagement strategies for NFP organizations and different levels of government.

Ken has over 30 years of experience working with a wide range of clients at the local, national and international levels in strategic planning, developmental evaluation and organizational development. He is a partner in One World Inc., an Ottawa-based management consulting firm.
