Volunteer Talks
Speakers give presentations to a wide range of audiences and age groups across the city on the benefits of volunteering and how to successfully find rewarding volunteer experiences.
We have a series of presentations available including:
Pathways to Possibilities – This presentation is aimed at all age groups and demographics and focuses on volunteering as a pathway to employment and career progression, to personal development and giving back to the community.
Volunteerism – Engaging Youth – This presentation is aimed at high school students. It explores how to find the right volunteer opportunities, highlights the benefits of volunteering for young people and aims to generate interest in volunteering among youth that goes beyond the 40 required hours in high school.
Volunteerism – the Spirit of Seniors –Designed for seniors, this presentation looks at volunteering as a way of transitioning through retirement or other life altering events, and the benefits of volunteering unique to seniors.
Or we can tailor a presentation to meet your unique needs.
VO also operates booths at information fairs explaining the programs that VO offers and highlighting volunteer opportunities.

Do you like to volunteer? Would you like to encourage others to do the same? Volunteer Ottawa is always looking for individuals to speak on the merits of volunteering and represent VO at information booths at events throughout the city. You will help us by being the “face” of volunteerism in Ottawa. You will be inspiring others to volunteer and give back to the community using your public speaking skills and sharing your volunteer story with others. As the majority of VO’s speaking engagements are weekday events, preference is given to those with weekday availability. Training is provided.
