Acquisitions Deputy
Description
The Acquisitions Deputy provides support to the Acquisitions Lead in policies, plans, and activities involving or affecting acquisition of books. The Acquisitions Deputy also works with the acquisitions team of volunteers.
The following duties and responsibilities are as follows:
– Assist in seeking out, identifying and acting on opportunities to acquire books.
– Assist in responding to offers of book donations when required.
– Assist in arranging for pick up/receipt of donated books.
– Clear book drop boxes at designated bookstores as needed.
– Help maintain donor sheets, including names, contact information, and books donated.
– Occasionally organize boxes of books in the storage room.
– Participate in organizing and preparing book drives and book donation fundraising initiatives.
– Ability to provide guidance to community members interested in organizing book drives for Twice Upon a Time.
– Provide pictures of book acquisitions to the Communications Lead for social media posts if required.
Qualifications
– Access to reliable transportation.
– Be able to lift and carry boxes of books varying in weight.
– Knowledge of children’s literature and literacy is an asset.
– Bilingualism is an asset.
Estimated time commitment: 6-10 hours per month
– Monthly – pick up, sort and deliver books
– On occasion – monthly reports, monitoring emails.
