Christie Lake Kids is looking for volunteers to prepare and serve meals at our after-school youth programs on Monday and/or Wednesday evenings 5-8pm at the Emmanuel United Church. You will be provided with groceries and all materials to prepare quick healthy meals (e.g. sandwiches, salads, snacks) to the youth in our Leaders in Training (LIT) program.

Candidates must be 19+ years of age, fully vaccinated, and have an updated vulnerable sector check (under 3 years old; if you do not have one, we can help you acquire one at no cost).

As a volunteer at Christie Lake Kids, you will join a lively and caring community, develop relationships with like-minded individuals, enjoy the opportunity to be a positive influence in the lives of children, and contribute to making your community more joyful and equitable. Volunteer cooks will help serve meals to young adults from low-income families in a safe space where they can develop their leadership skills, build their confidence, and plan for the future! We will provide you with orientation and training, including the optional trainings offered to all CLK volunteers such as High Five, mental health, anti-racism, and more.
