Description

On behalf of our partner, Centretown Movies, we are looking for an Audio Visual (AV) technician volunteer to help with the return of the Centretown Movies annual outdoor film festival. Centretown Movies Outdoor Film Festival (CMOFF) is a community film screening that takes place in July and August in Dundonald Park, in Ottawa. The film festival is back after a pandemic hiatus. We plan to screen 1-2 movies over the summer of 2022 while building back up to more movies next summer.
The AV technician volunteer will oversee all of the festival’s audio visual equipment and needs including equipment, testing, set up and maintenance. The AV technician will receive training and on-going support from the Centretown Movies Steering committee, a committed group of volunteers. It’s fun, easy and you even get to enjoy the films!
Must be available for the current movie screening dates of Friday, August 5th and Saturday, August 6th from approximately 6 pm – 12 am, as well as potentially on August 19th and 20th from 6 pm – 12 am as backup screening dates, and for additional hours as needed for equipment testing and maintenance.

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
An opportunity to apply AV skills for a public event, gain experience with an outdoor film festival and support community initiatives.
How will the organization benefit?
Audio visual technical support is a key requirement to run film screenings.
Volunteer location:
Must be available for onsite film screenings at Dundonald Park, accessing equipment at a location nearby, as well as for various virtual and in-person meetings.
