The Board plays a crucial role in leading, shaping and positioning VHA within the provincial health landscape. VHA follows a policy governance Board model. VHA is a local area leader in providing community-based health care services (www.vhaottawa.ca).
At this time, Directors that possess the following would add strength to the Board:
* Human Resources (HR) expertise
* general interest in community-based health and social services within the city of Ottawa.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
As a volunteer, you will gain insight into the provincially-funded healthcare system. We need your valuable skills and expertise to navigate the challenges we face.
Meetings are held in English but we value bilingual/French language representation. Meetings are held every 6-8 weeks, at 4pm on a Monday, in person.
This is your opportunity to contribute to your community and to help shape the future of community-based health services in our region.
How will the organization benefit?
The Board of Directors provides stewardship to our not-for-profit organization. It sets the strategic direction and monitors organizational risk. VHA seeks a Board that informs dialogue and supports strong decision-making and reflects the community we serve.
