Description
We are looking for volunteers to run boating and fishing trips for people with special needs. We have large pontoon boats we use to provide trips. We will train volunteers in the operation of the boats. A pleasure boat operators card is required, it can be obtained online. We also require a police check for the vulnerable sector. We operate from June to September and you can volunteer for as little as one day a week or more.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Our volunteers learn boating skills. They also benefit greatly from the interaction with our guests who take tripos with us.
How will the organization benefit?
We cannot operate without the services of our volunteers. We have been in service in Eastern Ontario since 1996 and each year we normally take about 1300 people with special needs on trips. Finding people who have the time to volunteer with us during the week is essential to our continued operation.
