Who we are
Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre (PQCHC) is a community benefit organization providing comprehensive primary healthcare and innovative community programming through our multiple service locations in Western Ottawa and through our regional programming. At PQ, we strive to meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve. We work in partnership with individuals, families, and community to achieve their full potential, paying particular attention to those who are most vulnerable and at risk.

Volunteers
At PQCHC, volunteers and staff are considered partners and work in collaboration to uphold the Centre’s principles, values, and mission. They contribute unique knowledge; experiences and skills that help PQCHC to better connect with Ottawa’s west end community, reflect its diversity and serve its specific needs.

Brotherhood Mentorship Program
The Brotherhood Mentorship Program is part of the Together We Can (TWC) Program. The goals of the TWC program are to increase sense of belonging for Black youth living in low-income or social housing, help build a strong cultural identity through mentorship, increase and encourage civic engagement through the development of advocacy skills, and have fun. The Brotherhood Mentorship program was designed specifically for African, Caribbean, Black male youth. It focuses on the goals of TWC while creating a safe space for young men to explore topics specific to them.

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
The volunteer will have an opportunity to be a mentor to young ACB males. They will support these young men around their mental health, careers, and in developing meaningful friendships. They will also have fun and get exposure to some of our great partners in the City.
How will the organization benefit?
PQCHC would not be able to run programs without the support of volunteers. They help us break down language and culture barriers, they bring so much experience and wisdom, and they help innovate programs and services.
