We are seeking volunteers from within the Ottawa region, committed to OCISO’s mission and values to serve a renewable 2-year term on the Board of Directors. The Board typically meets every second month and provides governance direction and support to the Executive Director and the management team.
Ideal candidates must have one or more of the following areas of expertise:
• Accounting
• Finance and Audit
• Legal
• Human Resource Management
Assets:
• Board Governance
• Change Management
• Fundraising

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
As the OCISO's Board Director, a volunteer will get an opportunity to be a representative of the diversity and social culture of our community, and also it gives an an opportunity to serve in a leadership position in an organization that supporting immigrants and refugees through the journey of making Canada their home.
How will the organization benefit?
The volunteers serving in our Board of Directors are very helpful in bringing together expertise and advice. They are protecting shareholders' interests, establishing policies for management, oversight of the corporation or organization, and making decisions about important issues an organization faces.
