Centre 507 Board of Directors (volunteer)

Centre 507 is a busy adult drop-in centre in the Centretown area of Ottawa, collaborating with partners to provide healthy meals, a welcoming community and access to resources. Our Centre is a non-profit, community-based organization.

Our Board of Directors
The role of our policy board is to provide leadership and support to the Centre’s Executive Director and staff. Board members lead committees such as Fundraising, Human Resources, Communications, Nominations as well as other ad hoc committees. We provide orientation to all new board members.

Director – Fundraising Committee
Each Director is an important part of the Board of the Corporation, striving to fulfill the Mission by participating in strategic planning, committee work and support of other board members and the staff of the Corporation.

About this Role • Support the mission and values of Centre 507 as a board member.
• Commit to actively participate on Fundraising committee.
• Collaborate closely with other Fundraising and Communications committee members in the planning and execution of fundraising initiatives and other donor-facing communications.
• Support stewardship and networking activities as much as possible and as is appropriate.
• Maintain a positive attitude and collegial working relationship with other Directors.

Time Commitment • Attend quarterly committee meetings + monthly board meetings (5-7 hours/month total)
• Plan, lead or implement specific projects (avg. 2-8 hours/project)
Length of Term 3 years
Qualifications • Champion of equity, diversity and inclusion principles
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Passion for serving our community and interest in social justice.
• Previous non-profit or board experience is an asset.
Location Ottawa. Mainly meeting remotely.
Date Ideally to start April 2024
