The Communications Committee helps Dress for Success Ottawa to share our work with the greater community and, in doing so, ensures that the clients we support have a network of individuals and companies there to support them in their careers!

Platform Managers
– Manage a single account on behalf of Dress for Success
– Reshares interesting articles or fun posts that are written by other people which also reflect our values
– Likes or comments on the posts of other people as @DFSOttawa
– Responds to questions that are sent to the social inboxes
– Checks for mentions of @DFSOttawa or #DFSOttawa and flags for staff
– Helps to develop a platform-specific voice and strategy
– Works to meet the annual goals of the platform
– Stays up-to-date on platform changes

Location of Volunteerism: Offsite, from home.

Requirements for Communications Committee are as follows:
– Available for a cumulative 2 hours/week (roughly 15 minutes checking platform once daily)
– Knowledge of the platform that you will be monitoring (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Volunteers will grow their skills in creating digital content and learn how to use the various communications tools used by companies nationwide.
How will the organization benefit?
By monitoring and supporting the ongoing coordination of our public communications, the Social Platform Managers grow the number of people who know about the work of Dress for Success in Ottawa both as supporters and potential clients. They are critical in growing the impact that Dress for Success Ottawa has locally.
