The Nepean Housing Corporation is seeking new members to serve on our Board. The Nepean
Housing Corporation is a community-based non-profit housing corporation that owns and manages
both rent-geared-to-income and market rent housing for individuals, families with children and senior
citizens in its 559 units located in the South Nepean/Barrhaven, Bells Corners and Centrepointe
areas.

Directors meet every two months for two to three hours. In addition, members are expected to serve on one or more of the following Committees: Housing Program Services & Partnership, Growth & Portfolio, Audit, Finance & Tender Award and Corporate Governance & Human Resources. Directors will attend meetings prepared to engage and deliberate candidly and confidently when dealing with sensitive topics. Board meetings are in-person at our main office located at 16 Kilbarron Road in Nepean. Committee meetings are usually held via ZOOM.

The volunteer board member will benefit by having a chance to build their network and contacts. Our board members have a variety of life and work experience. Board members have the opportunity to invest in their community. Board members will learn or improve on existing skills in governance, finance and non-profit housing.
How will the organization benefit?
The Board of Directors provides strategic leadership to the organization by committing to excellence in governance and supporting organizational health for optimum achievement of its goals and mandate. The ten-member volunteer board is comprised of a team of leaders with combined experiences in governance, accounting, HR, legal, business management, real estate and land-use planning, building systems technology, marketing, and housing and homelessness advocacy. All members have a personal passion for volunteering and for making a difference in the lives of individuals, families with children and senior citizens that reside in our communities.
