Description

We are looking for volunteers who can bring their own cultural experiences to the residents of Medex. This could include visiting with residents to reminisce about other countries, participating in group activities with culturally-relevant foods, games or items, connect with residents who share the same spiritual beliefs, etc. We will work together to develop an activity that best suits the volunteer’s and residents’ needs.

Two-step TB test and vulnerable sector check is required for all long-term care volunteers.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to develop connections, gain experience in a long-term care environment and find purpose in brightening the day of residents.
How will the organization benefit?
The residents of Medex will benefit from having the opportunity to connect with community members who share their culture and learn about cultures and communities that may not be familiar with them.
