Upstream Ottawa is looking for a Volunteer to help coordinate our First Connections Luncheon.

The luncheon occurs on the fourth Thursday of each month and approximately 4 hours is required per month.

Summary expectations:

From 10:00 to 12:00 – finalize food preparation and setting of tables
From 12:00 to 1:00 – help with serving and engaging with participants.
From 1:00 to 2:00 – continue visiting with participants and help with post-meal clean up.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must present in a friendly manner
• Must be dependable and punctual
• Be courteous and personable when dealing with the attendees
• Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and jump in where needed
• Respect and maintain confidentiality of all attendees
• Other duties

This is a monthly luncheon for our clients that provides a safe environment, that promotes recovery through social networking and recreational/educational activities. We operate this monthly luncheon in conjunction with the Canadian Mental Health Association Ottawa Branch and the First United Church in Westboro.
