How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Connected Canadians (CC) is a national nonprofit organization with a mandate to provide free technology training and support to Canadian seniors, fostering digital literacy skills to reduce isolation and loneliness and improve quality of life. Many Connected Canadians mentors are new immigrants to Canada, highly skilled in technology, who benefit from the conversational opportunities and Canadian workplace experience, while senior clients feel pride and connection in welcoming these newcomers into their communities. Connected Canadians' partners and supporters include Adobe Canada, Amazon Canada, Capgemini, Deloitte and the National Gallery of Canada. By 2030, CC's goal is for all Canadian seniors to have access to free technology training and support regardless of where they live. Learn more at www.connectedcanadians.ca. This role will give the volunteer amazing opportunities to work with seniors, the Connected Canadians team, and our partner organizations. It is an excellent position for a retired journalist, looking to continue to use their skills for the good of our community, or a journalism/communications student looking to gain more hands-on experience.
How will the organization benefit?
Connected Canadians has an immediate need for someone with these skills, it is a critical role as this person will help to showcase the need for our services, encouraging more volunteers to work with us and also showing potential clients what they can gain by requesting help from us.
