Description

Are you interested and passionate about the arts? Looking for an opportunity to contribute to the community? Want to network and meet new people, apply your talents in new ways and develop new skills?

We are looking for creative and dynamic people to help Ottawa’s award-winning premiere professional summer theatre achieve its exciting artistic plans. We offer a supportive, collaborative and inclusive environment and welcome people of different cultures, backgrounds and experiences as we seek to reflect the diversity of our community.

Director, Special Events
As an incorporated non-profit charity, our Board of Directors plays a critical leadership role in helping Odyssey achieve its artistic mandate. Board members are asked to attend approximately 10 meetings per year, and to join a committee or get involved with a specific Board project. Members can expect a time commitment of 6-10 hours per month, for a two-year term.

Director, Special Events
We are seeking a creative and dynamic member that wants to make a difference as a Director, Special Events on our Board of Directors. You will work with the Board to help plan and stage exciting and entertaining public events to raise awareness and funds for the Theatre’s productions. You will develop imaginative events, work with staff and volunteers, launch publicity campaigns and organize volunteers to run them. If you are creative, love working with people and have a flair for organization, this role is for you!

About Odyssey Theatre
We introduced open-air theatre to Ottawa in 1986. For 37 years, we have been enchanting audiences with our Theatre Under the Stars by the banks of the Rideau River in Strathcona Park. Odyssey’s award-winning productions are renowned for their highly skilled performances and imaginative staging featuring masks and physical movement. We present exciting theatre online, such as our new podcast series of audio dramas reaching audiences around the world. The Theatre supports creators of new works, provides training for artists and youth, and engages diverse communities underserved by the arts.
