Description
As an Evening Theatre Usher, you will be the front face of the professional Classic Theatre Festival, which produces hits from the golden age of Broadway and the London Stage every summer at downtown Ottawa’s Arts Court Theatre. From July 7 to August 27 on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings from 6:30 to 10:15 pm, you will welcome theatre guests, check tickets, hand out programs, answer questions about the show and related attractions, assist at intermission with our loonie-toonie book sale and concessions, assist guests entering and exiting the theatre, and sit-in on our award-winning entertainment.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
It's a great position for people who like people as well as people who love live, professional theatre. Our audiences are engaged and engaging, so each new shift is an opportunity to hear great stories, meet fascinating people, and assist in the daily functioning of a professional theatre. We can also sign for high school students' summer hours!
How will the organization benefit?
We love being connected to the community in which we live and work, and having community members come forth to join us enriches the environment where we stage our shows and also makes for a welcoming afternoon or evening for theatre guests.
