Event Coordinator Volunteer

Description
+ Help OCISO staff, board of directors, clients, and members of the community register on the RaceRoster website, join existing or form new fundraising teams under the campaign.
+ Relay important information from Run Ottawa to fundraisers and send reminders in a timely fashion
+ Liaise with campaign ambassador (to be announced) on training opportunities
+ Communicate with clients, former clients, donors, runners from previous years and help them establish a support community around fundraisers
+ Reach out to potential corporate sponsors and sports clubs for funds and services
+ Secure the design, purchase, storage, distribution, and tracking of branded items (T-shirts, water bottles, flyers, registration forms, consent forms, etc.) before and during the races.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
-- Experience in event management, coordination between different stakeholders. Students currently studying within event management encouraged to apply
-- Option to support creating content for social media, website, newsletter, press kit for traditional media.
-- Understanding and catering to different needs of fundraisers
-- They will gain experience supporting a well-established non-profit agency that is celebrating its 45th year in operation
-- They will be supporting a major local sports event: the Ottawa Race Weekend
-- References provided after 3 months volunteering
How will the organization benefit?
Run for a New Start 2023 campaign is well established and, will be our 8th year raising funds to support community. A volunteer dedicated to registration of fundraisers and correspondence between the race team, Run Ottawa and OCISO management will be crucial for the success of the campaign.
