Description
We are looking to fill one position for a nonprofit organization for cerebral palsy. This position is ongoing, and long term, with room to grow potentially.
Dreamers Walk Canada is a small but growing young organization looking to raise awareness, education, and make dreams happen for youth and those with disabilities.
This candidate would need to be comfortable in team work environment, setting up and tearing down events (Currently 3) alongside another Lead. Ability to lift moderate weighted items (up to 25lbs), physically demanding motions and potentially longer shifts. Steel toe boots, safety training including WHIMIS and OHS are required. AODA training will be provided.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Great opportunities to put on a resume, trackable volunteer hours for required schooling, great for new to Canada immigrants, and rewarding feeling helping those with disabilities.
How will the organization benefit?
Smoothly run event where more hands mean for lighter work. Currently being handled by one person, this is a difficult job to manage, where we want one star volunteer to help them out. Some of the members are not physically able to do the role, and outsourcing is required.
