We’re look for a creative individual to join our leadership team in the role of Events and Fundraising Manager. This role will help strategically raise funds for our organization through pop-up events and campaigns. This role also sits on the Leadership Team that meets approximately every 6 weeks.
This volunteer team member will be responsible for establishing and working towards fundraising goals, in a way that is sustainability. Working with a counterpart, this role aims to secure pet food and monetary donations by working with the community and current community partners.
A great asset for this role is the ability to carry projects through to completion, using strong organizational and collaborative skills. The ideal candidate will have great record keeping abilities and the ability to see the organization from a larger perspective.
Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of volunteers to assist with initiatives and event planning in a way that keeps them engaged
• Acts as the first point of contact for all things related to outreach and events
• Ensures that events and locations have the required materials and volunteers needed
• Attends Outreach Committee and Leadership Team meetings (aprox. Every 6-8 weeks)
• Assists in the orientation of fundraising volunteers and committee members
• Works closely with other team leaders to create all collateral materials including, but not limited to, brochures, newsletters, posters, special projects, and annual reports
Requirements:
• Fundraising and event planning experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to persuasively present ideas that will inspire board members and donors
• Enthusiastic about fundraising, with the ability to lead by example and coach others while helping to improve their skills in the realm of direct fundraising
• Working knowledge of a smartphone and Google Docs preferred
• Working knowledge of Canva (asset)
