Description

Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre (PQCHC) is looking for volunteers to support the Foster Farm and Pinecrest-Terrace Food Banks during the day on Mondays to help unload the food truck, stock shelves, and make hampers.

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Volunteers will know that they are making a difference for individuals and families who experience food insecurity. We have seen the number of clients accessing the food bank rise exponentially because of the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and the rising cost of food. Access to healthy food is a basic necessity and supporting our food banks means you will help more families put food on their tables.
How will the organization benefit?
Running a food bank takes a great deal of work, especially with the current high demand. We rely heavily on volunteers to help. Without them, we wouldn't be able to support as many individuals and families.
Volunteer location:
Foster Farm Family House, 1085 Ramsey Crescent, units 332 & 334, Ottawa, ON K2B 7Z9 Pinecrest-Terrace Community House, 2483-B Iris Street, Ottawa, ON K2C 1C7
