Recreation & Social Engagement with Long Term Care residents including reading aloud stories to residents, work at In-house Tuck Shop, escort residents to recreational activities, as well as walking and escorting residents to in-house hairdressing,
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Volunteers will gain experience and skills in engaging with an aging population in a Long-term Care facility. In addition Working with the geriatric population can also offer a positive impact on their lives fostering a sense of fulfillment and purpose. Volunteers gain valuable interpersonal and communication skills working in a diverse Long-term Care Facility and a deeper understanding of the challenges often faced by residents in a Long-term Care Facility. Additionally, the volunteer experience can create a meaningful connection with residents thereby contributing to the residents quality of life, and the personal and professional growth of the volunteer.
