Description
We are looking for people who are interested in helping out with group activities (monthly birthday parties, Bingo, crafts, social teas etc..) or visiting 1-1 with a few ladies each week. We invite people who speak another language (Mandarin, Tamil, Farsi, Portuguese, Ukrainian) to apply. Do you play the piano or guitar? Do you sing? Do you have a talent you would enjoy sharing with the ladies? We welcome you. We are looking for people who can knit, that would help the ladies start projects and help out when things go wrong… We need someone who would like to help out at Bingo games in the evening.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
The volunteer will benefit by building rapport with the elderly and learning about their history. By bringing joy to someone the volunteer will also feel the joy.
How will the organization benefit?
By having volunteers, we are able to offer programming that the ladies enjoy.
