Front of House/Box Office - Odyssey Theatre
Description
Are you interested and passionate about the arts? Looking for an opportunity to contribute to the community? Want to spend some time outdoors meeting new people this summer? Come join Odyssey Theatre for our 38th season as we proudly present Myth, Lore and Stories of Wonder – a creative arts fair.
We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic people that have a passion for the arts and are interested in working outdoors (weather dependent) during our fair, which will feature over 40 artists presenting theatre, dance, storytelling, workshops, crafts, and more. As a not-for-profit charitable organization, we rely on volunteers to help us continue to serve our community and put on fantastic programming each summer.
We are in need of volunteers to help us with our Front of House operations; for example, checking passes and giving out buttons, greeting the public and answering questions, handing out programs, guiding attendees to various venues around the park, seating audience members, selling raffle tickets, renting cushions, and helping operate our concessions and box office. You will become an integral part of our team and be the face of Odyssey Theatre during our fair.
We need volunteers for the fair on:
-Tuesday, August 13 from 6:00pm-9:00pm;
-Friday, August 16 from 4:00pm-9:30pm;
-Saturday, August 17 from 9:00am-9:30pm;
-Sunday, August 18 from 9:00am-5:30pm.
Ideally, shifts will be 4-6 hours, in line with your availability. We will also have a volunteer orientation session with you in the evening of August 7 or 8 to make sure you are well prepared for the event.
You will be joining us at our performance venue in beautiful Strathcona Park, 25 Range Rd, Ottawa. In case of inclement weather, we will move indoors and the show will go on in the nearby Arts Court building, 2 Daly Avenue, Ottawa.
Bring your spirit, enthusiasm and passion for the arts to help us take Ottawa audiences on a mythical adventure this summer!
