Fundraising Committee Member
Description
The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – Ottawa Valley chapter is looking for volunteers for our Fundraising Committee! We are looking for a team of volunteers with a minimum of 3 people to design, coordinate, and implement fundraising activities for the organization. The inaugural Fundraising Committee will report to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for developing and implementing a new fundraising approach.
We are looking for dynamic individuals who will help strategically raise funds for our organization through donor engagement, grant writing, events and campaigns. Funds raised through the work of the volunteer committee will contribute to ongoing operations and sustainability of CPAWS-OV and its campaigns to protect nature in the Ottawa River watershed.
We are seeking volunteers to assist with:
Enhancing our fundraising strategy
Researching eligible granting programs
Securing partnerships and sponsorships
Fundraising event planning and coordination
Donor engagement and retention strategies
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
A fundraising role and/or in conducting fundraising activities,
Securing partnerships and sponsorships,
Managing and/or implementing projects,
Creating fundraising material, and/or
Event planning
We are looking for skilled fundraisers who are enthusiastic about our campaigns and motivated to inspire others to contribute towards them. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills in English and/or French. Candidates will also require the ability to easily use a computer and Google Drive to work collaboratively with the rest of the Committee.

How will the organization benefit?
CPAWS-OV is a small organization and the Fundraising Committee will be an integral part in securing sustainable funding for our organization and campaigns. Volunteers will be helping to raise awareness of CPAWS-OV and the great work we do in the Ottawa River watershed.
Volunteer location:
Flexible and virtual, with occasional in-person meetings in Ottawa-Gatineau (downtown).
