Interested volunteers will have the opportunity to plan and implement various fundraising events through out the year. This role will also have a strong focus on event-based fundraising, which includes supporting third-party events and campaigns.

Some but not all responsibilities include:

– Identify and manage a portfolio of current donors and prospects; build strong relationships with individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
– Solicit donations and sponsorship from individuals or corporate sponsors.
– Organize fundraising activities and campaigns with the support of staff and volunteers, including creating budgets and tracking revenue and expenses.

The volunteer gains valuable work experience by learning to interact with people and clients. Onyx Community Services assist those in need in the community. Some of our clients have issues with mental health and addiction; it is important for volunteers to treat them with respect, kindness and empathy.
