Are you passionate about reducing food waste and building a sustainable future? Join our fundraising team! In this vital role, you’ll lead our fundraising efforts, engage with donors, and organize exciting events to support our mission. Personal Attributes:
Fundraising Enthusiast: Possesses experience or a strong interest in various fundraising activities, including donor cultivation, grant writing, event planning, and online campaigns.
Organized Planner: Skilled at managing projects, setting priorities, and ensuring progress aligns with objectives.
Effective Communicator: Adept at building strong relationships and ensuring clear, consistent messaging.
Collaborative Team Player: Thrives in working with diverse teams and departments to achieve shared goals.
Self-Motivated: Takes initiative and works independently to achieve fundraising goals.
Passionate About the Cause: Demonstrates a passion for reducing food waste and building a sustainable future.

Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Fundraising Plans: Create and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including setting goals and timelines.
Cultivate Donor Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners to secure ongoing support.
Organize Fundraising Events: Plan and manage key fundraising events, both in-person and virtual, to engage supporters and raise funds.
Manage Online Fundraising Campaigns: Utilize online platforms and social media to run fundraising campaigns and engage with a broader audience.
Track and Report Progress: Monitor fundraising progress, track donations, and report on outcomes to the organization’s leadership.
Coordinate and Build a Fundraising Team: Recruit, mentor, and work closely with a team of volunteers to ensure all fundraising efforts are aligned and executed collaboratively.

While grant writing is a valuable skill, it is not mandatory for this role at the moment.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic fundraising team, supported by the Executive Director and other team members, ensuring that diverse skills are leveraged to achieve our fundraising goals together.

Foodsharing Ottawa (FSO) has been reducing the amount of food waste in Canada’s capital since 2015. We rescue and donate most of our surplus food to a network of 40+ organizations in the city. We are passionate about supporting fairer, more sustainable ways of distributing, using, and disposing of food.
