Fundraising Volunteer
Description
The Fundraising Volunteer will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities and support fundraising campaigns.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Draft grant applications and/or fundraising proposals for approval by the President or delegate;
Prepare final reports for the President’s submission to grant agencies;
Maintain good relationship with donors via thank you letters and/or other innovative methods;
Research and reach out to individuals, corporations, and foundations that could be interested in donating to Twice Upon a Time;
Support the Fundraising Lead with the CanadaHelps fundraising page, including the Donor Management System (DMS) contracted from CanadaHelps as well as mailing lists and any supplementary donor files;
Assist with promotions, publicity and participation for fundraising events; and
Engage in continuing education regarding fundraising trends and best practices.
Preferred skills and qualifications
Experience in writing grant proposals and fundraising letters
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Passion for research
Estimated time commitment: 4-10 hours per month (variable depending on time of year)
Work location: Remotely and in person for fundraising events
