Are you a retired or working individual looking for an exciting volunteer opportunity?

Abbeyfield Houses Society of Ottawa is a not-for-profit seniors’ residence affiliated with Abbeyfield International, with 1,100 houses in 25 countries worldwide.

Abbeyfield House Parkdale is looking for volunteers to participate on the Grants and Fundraising committee and work with the Director of Grants and Fundraising to identify and write grant applications on behalf of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Research and identify potential grant opportunities for which Abbeyfield Ottawa is eligible;
Review list of projects and initiatives in need of funding and apply for grants as appropriate with guidance from the Director of Grants and Fundraising;
Apply for specific grants at the request of the Board of Directors or the Director of Grants and Fundraising;
Ensure all applications are completed on time and include appropriate supporting documentation;
Track all submissions and ensure reporting requirements are met for successful applications.
Experience in grant writing an asset;
Strong initiative;
Good research skills;
Strong written and oral communication skills are required;
MS Office experience.
