Description

Volunteers play a support role to staff in the Charitable Gaming Centre. They play an integral part of welcoming guests by circulating the gaming floor to provide customer service and assistance, actively greeting guests as they arrive and thanking guests as they depart on behalf of their organization. Volunteers assist players with information on programs, events, games, and promotions as needed. They flag game winners for identification by staff to assist with verification process. Volunteer may be asked to assist Charitable Gaming Centre staff with promotional events (e.g. hand out ballots).
Our volunteers should be knowledgeable about our Festival and on where the charitable funds earned in the Charitable Gaming Centre are used and provide the information to customers if requested.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, able to actively participate for the two-hour session – standing, walking, etc. Training must be completed before the volunteer can start at the Gaming Centre. This training is done through an easily-accessed online portal.

Our normal time slot at the Centre is Mondays, 4:00 – 6:00 pm so volunteers must be available for this time frame on an ongoing basis.

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
This commitment will give you a weekly chance to be out and about in a lively and friendly social situation. You will get to know the “regulars” and perhaps even make friends with some of them. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing that you play a big part in helping the National Capital Region Music Festival support the hard work of music students in the Ottawa area.
How will the organization benefit?
The funds raised through the Gaming Centre pay for the world-class adjudicators that give feedback to the young musicians in our Festival each year. These funds allow us to attract the high-level professionals who give positive and constructive feedback to our performers, allowing the participants to grow in their musical journeys.
