Description

Odyssey Theatre is Ottawa’s premiere outdoor theatre company. We are returning to our outdoor stage in Strathcona Park with our 37th season of Theatre Under the Stars. As a non-profit, charitable organization we hold an annual Garage Sale to raise funds for the Theatre’s production and youth programs.

We are looking for help on two days.

1) Join us on Saturday August 26 for our Pricing Day — a fun event where we price and prepare items donated by the public for our garage sale. Refreshments will be served. Pricing day runs from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.

2) Join us on Saturday September 9, 2023 for the Garage Sale Day. Help us bring out and display items for the sale, talk shoppers, and negotiate deals. Three different shifts are available: 1) 6:30 am to 10:00 am; 2) 10:00 am to 3:00 pm; and 3) 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. You can volunteer for one or all of the shifts.

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Volunteers have a fun day at both the Pricing Day and Sale Day. Refreshments will be served. It is a great chance to meet new people helping with the sale or attending the sale as shoppers. Students can claim their community hours.
How will the organization benefit?
Our annual Garage Sale is held each year to raise funds for Odyssey Theatre's open-air productions in Strathcona park , as well as our youth theatre training program, and our community program that partners with charities to allow underserved communities to attend the theatre for free.
Volunteer location:
370 Chapel Street, Ottawa (Sandy Hill).
