The Friends supply a small army of volunteers to assist Agriculture and Agri – Food Canada (AAFC) Farm staff in tending the Ornamental Gardens, Arboretum, Merivale Shelterbelt, and, occasionally, other parts of the Farm. Our volunteer gardening teams are generally active during the morning hours from May through the end of September. Many different garden teams to choose from! Youth volunteer season has ended for the summer.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Are you recently retired, or just eager to meet new people while enjoying the outdoors?
Are you interested in protecting the green and blooming spaces at the Central Experimental Farm?
Do you love gardening, or would you like to give it a try?
Do you like working in a team?
Then the Friends of the Central Experimental Farm (FCEF) would love to meet you!
How will the organization benefit?
We dedicate over 10,000 volunteer hours annually to the Farm. Some volunteers work in the gardens and others work in the office or at Events, while still others drop in periodically to help on specific projects. We are young and old, skilled and unskilled, from research scientist to garden lover, but we want to make a difference and enjoy doing it!
