Go for walks and get active with an individual with Down’s Syndrome
Description
Connor (aged 24 years old) loves going for walks and hikes through the trails, riding his bike in the community, swimming, playing basketball, and soccer. He is looking for someone he can spend time with outdoors, or even going to the movies, walking around the mall, or shopping. He also loves to play video games on his PlayStation.
Connor has Down’s Syndrome, and is high functioning physically and cognitively, but requires cueing and support for unfamiliar tasks outside of his daily routine. He can engage well in conversations in English, despite his mild speech impediment. Connor takes his time to warm up to new people (6 months approx.) but is eager to spend time with someone he can look up to. Becoming a friend to Connor means encouraging him in social activities and working on his practical skills.
