Description
Volunteers needed Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons to:
• Escort long-term care residents to and from the hair salon for scheduled appointments, as needed.
• Arrive early on resident unit to ensure individual is ready for their appointment, follow up with nursing staff as needed, sign resident in and out at unit nursing desk, push wheelchairs according to volunteer wheelchair safety training or safely guide ambulatory residents
• Provide friendly companionship to residents and other salon clients before, during and after salon treatments
• Assist with light duties such as answering salon phone, sweeping floors, restocking supplies, helping to wash or rinse hair (under stylists’ supervision), moving clients under dryer, etc.
