Health Issues Committee – Volunteer Community Member
Description
Are you interested in older adult health issues? Do you like to learn about emerging health issues, read news articles and surf the internet? Are you ready to be an advocate? We are looking for individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and make a difference!
We need your skills and would welcome you to the Health Issues Committee. The Committee meets once per month, 2nd Thursday from 1:30 to 3:00.
As a committee member, you would join a diverse mixed group of health professionals and community members. The Health Issues Committee is actively developing position papers and/or tip sheets on topics such as Home Care, vaccines for older adults, dementia, and falls prevention. We also support the development of older adult learning workshops and have recently contributed to the “Home from Hospital” Smart Aging Workshop.
If you have the desire to work on projects and support the development of written documents, we would love to have you join our team. Your interests in research, analysis, and writing for the purpose of informing, educating, and advocating for older adult health issues would be a welcomed addition to our Committee.
French and English language skills would be an asset. We also recognize the diversity of the population we serve and encourage applicants who reflect this diversity.
To apply for the position please visit our website at www.coaottawa.ca/get-involved/become-volunteer/ to download the application form. Questions can be directed to Roch Pilon at [email protected] . We look forward to hearing from you.
