We are looking for individuals to assist at the annual HOPE Volleyball Tournament in Ottawa on Saturday July 13th, 2024, from 4:00pm-8:30pm.
Location: Mooney’s Bay – 2960 Riverside Dr, Ottawa ON K1V 8N4

Volunteer Duties
Court Tear Down: 25 shifts.
• Volunteers may be assigned to various areas of the Event site. The Logistics Committee will lead and assist with tear down. Activities and responsibilities include:
• Light physical labor is involved: tearing down court ropes, stakes, nets, net signs, etc.
• This position requires some light lifting and carrying of equipment.

Site Tear Down and Clean Up: 25 shifts.
• Volunteers may be assigned to various areas of the Event site. Activities and responsibilities include:
• Assist with the tear down of the Beverage Gardens. Duties will include stacking of tables and chairs.
• Clean up in the VIP area or beer garden may be required (volunteers must be a minimum of 19 years old in the bar areas)

• Assist in breaking down the bicycle compound, including removal and stacking of wooden barricades.
• Stack tables, chairs, and signage.
• Working in pairs (register with a friend!), assist in cleaning up the beach and parkland by picking up refuse and cans for recycling.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the Logistics or Greening Committees (such as monitoring of the condition of the site garbage cans).

Dress Code: Volunteers should dress comfortably and wear closed-toed shoes for safety, bring appropriate gloves if desired. HOPE volleyball t-shirts will be provided.
Requirements: Most of the shifts can be performed by youth 16-18. About 5 positions must be 19 plus.

How will the organization benefit?
The funds raised will go to summer camp programs for kidney patients - Camp Dorset is a family camp with an on-site dialysis center which allows patients to continue their life-saving treatments and still experience a summer holiday. Camp Kivita is a camp for pediatric organ transplant recipients which provides these children with an overnight camp experience with other kids facing similar health issues.
