Description

Do you have a spare room you’d be willing to offer for a fully vaxxed and boosted, non-smoking, Classic Theatre Festival performer/stage manager/designer this summer? If so, we’d love to chat! There is no cost to you (and in fact you receive a season pass for four to our 2022 and 2023 seasons in return!)
The dates we are looking for are July 10 to August 7 (for two individuals), July 10 to August 29 for one person, and July 17 to August 29 for two individuals.
Here’s how it works: Your guest is responsible for their own costs (ie, food, laundry) and they simply need a private bedroom with access to kitchen and washroom. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and form new friendships with some of the Festival’s talented company, many of whom have been billeting with local residents for years. We prefer spaces close to good transit (they will be rehearsing and performing downtown). If you might be interested, please email us at [email protected]!
Actors, stage managers and designers make for great house sitters too if you might be away for part of this time period!

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
They will be able to connect with a dynamic performing arts company relaunching in downtown Ottawa during the summer of 2022. It's a great opportunity to meet new people and form new friendships with some of the Festival’s talented company, many of whom have been billeting with local residents for years. You will also receive a season pass for four to our 2022 and 2023 theatre seasons!
How will the organization benefit?
Our visiting performers, stage managers, and designers are leaving their own rentals in other ities to come and share their talents in Ottawa. Given that arts salaries are not as high as they should be, it is difficult to ask someone to rent for a six week period, as that would be it difficult financially. Hence, the free space you offer makes it easier for our staff members to focus on the work of putting on professional theatre entertainment without the worry of having to pay two rentals!
Volunteer location:
This would be where you live and are hosting one of our visitors.
