Please Note: This new program takes place on Sunday mornings with a mandatory volunteer commitment of 9:30am-11:30 am.
Volunteers with the Hymn Sing program will help to support and engage residents during a Sunday morning Hymn Sing
Duties will include;
– Assisting residents to and from home areas throughout the building. This will require being able to push wheelchairs, training will be provided.
-Assist with room set up and clean up of tables, chairs and program supplies
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
The volunteer will gain skills related to supporting older adults living with dementia and other cognitive/ physical impairments to meaningfully participate in activities. This will include adapting programs to meet a variety of needs.
How will the organization benefit?
Through the volunteer support for our Centre Wide Travelogue program residents are supported to continue learning about the world. Through volunteer support a larger number of residents will be able to actively engage and participate in the program. Through increased participation our residents' cognitive and emotional well-being will be supported.

Please note that we are not able to provide parking near the home. There is free on street parking with a time limit of 2 hours.There is a paid parking lot at Lansdowne TD place that volunteers can park at however the parking cost will be at the volunteers expense. The bright side we are on direct bus routes 6 and 7 that have stops right in front of the Centre on Bank street. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause or impact it has on you being able to volunteer with us.
