Job Description
The Volunteer Lead for Laptop and Tablet Repairs informs the Volunteer Coordinator when additional/replacement volunteers are needed, Trains new laptop repair technicians, co-ordinates and advises the work of team members, manages the inventory of donated laptops/tablet and spare parts, organizes drives for donations of laptops/tablets.

Activities:
• Informs Volunteer Coordinator when additional/replacement volunteers are needed
• Trains new members of team
• Co-ordinates/advises work of the team
• Manages inventory of spare parts and repair equipment
• Organizes drives for donations of laptops and tablets

Ability to troubleshoot computer problems
• Knowledge of virus scanning, network defenses
• Ability to retrieve and test parts from laptops/tablets that cannot be repaired
• Ability to switch out computer parts
• Attention to detail
• Problem-solving skills
• Organizational and time management skills
• Text editing, emails, spreadsheets, databases, Google sheets
• English or French proficiency

Activities:
• Perform comprehensive checks and total data wipes of donated laptops and tablets
• Perform minor hardware repairs
• Install appropriate software
• Recover and test parts from laptops/tablets that cannot be repaired
