Montessori based programming gives residents who have dementia the opportunity to participate in meaningful activities that build on their remaining skills and abilities. Activity programs that are Montessori based give residents a sense of task completion and success. Key factors for successful outcomes are: repetition, positive reinforcement, using all five senses, (see, touch, hear, smell and taste.) Volunteers will need to provide a copy of the 3rd dose of their vaccine. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 to apply for this position.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Volunteers will experience the psychology behind the concept of Montessori. Volunteers will gain a skill set based on their experiences that will allow them to relate to other life experiences.
How will the organization benefit?
We cannot provide our programming and activities without the support of volunteers.
